Emera New Brunswick provides sponsorship for, or donates to support worthy organizations in the communities where we live and work. Employees also volunteer and raise money to support organizations and causes in these communities. In particular, our focus is on improving the lives of disadvantaged children and youth, as well as improving the environment and safety.
With so many worthy causes in need of assistance, it's tough to decide which organizations and programs to help. So follow some guidlines to help us allot donation dollars where we feel it's most needed.
- We contribute primarily to causes that improve the lives of disadvantaged children and youth in our communities, and sustainable environment and safety-related endeavours.
- We believe in contributing where we can truly make a difference – both with our time and our financial resources.
- We choose causes where we believe our impact will be a source of pride for our employees.
- We give where we live. We want our employees to see the differences our contributions are making in the communities in which we live and work.
With it's donation dollars, Emera New Brunswic's primary goal is to improve the lives of children. Over the years we've supported many worthy organizations including P.R.O. Kids, First Steps Housing Inc. and provided bursaries for students graduating high school.
Most recently we're proud of the following contributions:
•$25-thousand a year to the Crescent Valley Community Centre
•$20-thousand a year to the Teen Resource Centre for Youth
•a $2-million investment in the improvement and beautification of Rockwood Park.
•donation of 27-acres of waterfront property to residents living in the Milford area on the city's west-side.
•$10-thousand to groom this land into beautiful walking trails for the community to enjoy.
•We continue to support various organizations across southern New Brunswick and are always eager to help out where we can.
