Saint John Community Liaison Committee

To help us better understand local interests, Emera New Brunswick established the Brunswick Pipeline Saint John Community Liaison Committee (SJCLC) in September 2007.  To ensure the committee had all the information it needed and to answer the inquiries and concerns of the urban public, the committee met on a monthly basis across all areas of Saint John.  As the construction of the pipeline was finished and clean-up of lands was completed, the committee reduced its meeting schedule to bi-monthly in the fall of 2009.

The members of the SJCLC continue to participate in discussions and provide insight into city neighbourhoods and issues, and keep Emera New Brunswick advised of issues and concerns related to the Brunswick Pipeline.  During construction, committee members were  provided with route maps, the construction Environmental Protection Plan and other materials to help them understand the work and its progress, and so they would be able to answer questions from the public. Presentations by project specialists and pipeline tours provided more in-depth information and opportunities to see first-hand how the work was being done.

With the Brunswick Pipeline now in operation and fewer issues being raised, meetings are held quarterly. The next meeting is scheduled for:  February 2012 (TBD).

Agendas and meeting location will be posted 24 hours prior to each meeting.
Minutes will be posted after they are approved at the next meeting.
