Southwest New Brunswick Liaison Committee

To help us better understand local interests, Brunswick Pipeline established the Southwest NB Community Liaison Committee (SNBCLC) in October 2007.  The committee met on a bi-monthly basis in the central communities of Pennfield and Blacks Harbour.

Committee members were provided with route maps, copies of the environmental protection plan for construction and other materials to help them understand the work and its progress so they could answer questions from the public. Presentations by project specialists and pipeline tours provided more in-depth information and opportunities to see work being done, as well.

All members of the SNBCLC participated fully in all discussions, provided very valuable insight into Charlotte County communities and kept Brunswick Pipeline advised of complaints and concerns.

Questions and concerns began to subside as the construction of the pipeline was finished and clean-up of lands was completed. In September 2009, the committee members decided that their mandate was complete and elected to disband. The final meeting of the committee was held in November of 2009.

Brunswick Pipeline thanks the committee’s members for their contributions. Should new issues arise, the Committee can be recalled into service at the request of committee members by Brunswick Pipeline.
